Subarachnoid haemorrhage is a life-threatening condition most frequently occurring in the course of rupture of a brain aneurysm. Due to the diagnostic difficulties and the intensity of bleeding, the mortality rate is still high. Undoubtedly, the condition requires the introduction of specialist treatment and the patient's holistic care of the entire interdisciplinary team. The implementation of appropriate activities and recognition of the problems faced by the patient is a challenge for the nurse, who plays an important role in patient care. The aim of the study was to present the role of a nursing midwife and patient after a subarachnoid haemorrhage. Rapid diagnosis and implementation of appropriate quality medical services contribute to more efficient recovery of the patient. In this case, the cooperation of the entire therapeutic team is essential. A great responsibility in this process lies with the activities performed by the nurse. By participating in the improvement of the patient, it acts as an educator and motivator, encouraging the patient to develop skills in the field of self-care and implementation of pro-health behaviors.
